Understanding budgets helps participants use plans confidently

NDIA explains three main support budgets: Core, Capacity Building, and Capital. It also notes that some plans in the newer computer system may include a Recurring budget.

Core supports

Most flexible and supports everyday disability-related needs, with exceptions such as some transport arrangements.

Capacity Building

Builds skills and independence, usually less flexible.

Capital supports

Equipment and modifications, generally specific approvals.
